College Music Preparation: We also offer the Royal Conservatory of Music ® Exam Program for our interested students. Students move up through 10 Grades/Levels and an equal set of technical requirements (scales, chords, theory). They then present these to a certified examiner and are assigned a grade and comment sheet. This curriculum ensures that a student wishing to take music courses in college will be well prepared.
Violin/Viola Ages 5 + up
Basic Rudiments are taught to students as well as proper posture and general sound clarity. RCMA teaches a combination of standard notation (notes on sheet music) and the Suzuki method of training. The violin can be studied by children ages 6 and up. Students will also play duets with their instructor and alongside the piano or along with a backing track. We can fit you or your child with the correct sized violin and get you a high quality student violin for a low price, or use our rental program that beats any music store**. **Please remember we don’t sell instruments for profit. We are a teaching studio but want to get our students the best prices in order to study an instrument.
Guitar Ages 7 + up
Guitar Tablature, notation and chord playing will be taught in a variety of styles on the acoustic or electric guitar. All styles from blues, classic rock, alternative rock can be studied as well as a more structured course based on the curriculum established by the Berklee School of Music. |
